When renovating the villas, we were careful to preserve the original features of the property, while maximizing the comfort and convenience of the modern traveler
Despite their rural setting, we made sure that the villas are equipped with all of the modern amenities you would expect from a luxury vacation rental, a home away from home
The restoration process
We purchased the property in 2000, and spent the next year renovating the buildings ahead of opening in the fall of 2001
During the restoration process, we discovered the villa's original water reservoir, which became La Trasera's master bedroom
To furnish the properties in a rustic yet comfortable style, we sourced furniture and decor from local artisans and markets
Oda & Yayo Fontes de Leon
Yayo and Oda Fontes de Leon, the current owners of the villa, have a deep connection to the island. Yayo was born and raised on the island, a close friend of Cesar Manrique, and played a significant role in the island's tourism development. Oda moved from Germany to join Yayo, and has cared for the villas and our guests since day one. Her style and attention to detail brought the villas to life.
